The Centre for Environmental Law, Advocacy & Research (CELAR) at National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, is accepting submissions for Issue 49 and beyond of Lex Terra, its quarterly online publication. Lex Terra, which has an ISSN of 2455-0965, has published 48 issues so far, covering environmental law and policy. The webzine is free to access and charges no publication or subscription fees.

Issue 49 is tentatively scheduled for January 2027. Manuscripts must focus on environmental law and policy; other topics will be rejected. Suggested sub-themes include environmental impact assessment, ecological restoration, pollution control, carbon markets, coastal regulation, environmental ethics, ecofeminism, environment and human rights, ecosystem services, and environmental economics. Submissions on North-East India's customary environmental practices are especially encouraged.

Word limits, excluding footnotes, are: short articles up to 2,000 words; enviro-legislative analysis up to 1,000 words; enviro-legal news and perspectives up to 1,000 words; and enviro-judgement analysis between 1,000 and 1,500 words. Co-authorship is allowed for up to two authors. Manuscripts must be original, not under consideration elsewhere, and will be checked for plagiarism and AI use. Plagiarism limits are 15% for undergraduate students and 10% for postgraduate students, professors, and legal professionals. Only manuscripts within these limits proceed to peer review.

Submissions must be made via a specified online form; email submissions will not be accepted. The manuscript should not include personal identification details to facilitate double-blind peer review. Formatting requirements include .doc or .docx format, Bluebook 20th Edition citations, Times New Roman font, and specific heading styles. Speaking footnotes are prohibited.

The deadline for Issue 49 is November 14, 2026. Peer review will begin after the deadline, and authors can expect a decision by the first week of January 2027. Manuscripts are judged on language, structure, referencing, research, and contribution to existing literature. The review process may take up to 21 days for initial screening, and no requests to expedite will be entertained. If submissions exceed capacity for Issue 49, later ones may be considered for subsequent 2027 issues.

Upon acceptance, authors must make required revisions and cooperate with the Editorial Board. The Board may modify guidelines without notice, and its decisions are final. Copyright of published manuscripts vests with the Registrar, NLUJAA, while moral rights remain with the authors.
